Hallo !

Thank you for reading my page ! My name is Aoife and I am a 22 year old woman from Ireland. I am looking for work as an Au Pair in order to better understand German culture!

I am a bubbly, enthusiastic and polite individual who loves the outdoors ! I have recently finished my degree in politics. In my spare time I enjoy cycling, rock climbing and making podcasts. I have an abundance of childcare experience!

I have just relocated to Berlin for a year after completing my degree in Politics and Social policy. I hope to do my masters in sustainable development in Berlin, however before doing such I am hoping to work and learn German for a year !

I am a friendly, enthusiastic and outgoing person with a heap of experience in childcare. To begin in the year of 2015 I worked for 3 months as an Au Pair in Ireland to a 6 year old little lady and a 9 year old little dude . It was a wonderful summer and I made sure the kids were outside enjoying the sunshine. I brought them to parks and playgrounds each day and supervised their play dates. We even managed a few trips to the beach and the zoo which the kids loved!

In the summer of 2016 I worked for 4 months in Maryland, America at a summer camp for underprivileged children. This was a little more challenging as many of the kids were from foster homes. Here I acted as both a high ropes instructor and camp counselor. The high ropes instructor entailed leading the children through a high ropes obstacle course during the day. Once more, as a camp counselor I was legally responsible for 8 to 10 children. The kids ranged in age from 6 right up to 16 years of age. Thus I have worked with and cared for children of all ages. I am still in touch with some of the older children I worked with and we often exchange letters. I am grateful to have met such powerful and interesting individuals. At the end of the summer my fellow camp counselors and management voted for me and awarded me the Laura E. Ohline Scholarship award. This award is for "Excellence in displaying the camps core values, Caring for our campers, Supporting fellow staff members and Working in service to our camp". It is achievement I am humbled by !

I am Hardworking and have continuously worked throughout my four year degree. I have taken on jobs in retail as well as hospitality thus I am extremely flexible. I give 100% to each and every task. I have also lived in Amsterdam for one year and studied and worked there. This has gifted me with a passion for culture and art.

In my spare time I work on podcasts. My podcasts deal with content I have learned in my lessons that I attempt to make engaging. Just last month I was awarded the Yap Ireland student podcast award. This award has gifted me a platform to publish podcasts on as well as allowing me to buy better equipment to better my art !

I have always really enjoyed working with children and young adults and it is something I feel I am good at. My past experience with kids has meant I am more than capable for such a task. With this in mind, as I have just moved to Berlin and there has already been so much change I would love to be working at something I know I can exceed in and that I enjoy ! Furthermore I feel working with a German family will assist me in understanding German culture. Once more, as the hours are often flexible I feel I would also be able to take German classes whilst working in this job.
